Disabled Students Support

The Government has been urged not to cut supports for disabled students as new figures show a 55pc increase in the number of disabled people entering third level education. Almost 1600 disabled students entered third level this year,up from just over 1000 in 2006. Ann Heelan, director of the Association for Higher Education Access and Disability (AHEAD) said ” It is essential that the supports for these students are not cut. The support for students with disabilities is hugely important. The Government must realise that cutting such assistance only costs the State more in the long run”. And so say all of us! Hear Hear!
