Educating Children with Special Needs?
Educating children with special needs should always take place in each child's local school. The school should be provided with all the resources necessary for this to happen. What do you think? What is/has been your experience?

Re: Educating Children with Special Needs?
i think it should , my boys school has a unit in the school and while none of my boys attend it i,m all for inclusion , its the only way forward that all kids experince that kids that have different needs and are taught side by side with him .
also when my son was in playschool he learned some sign lanuague as one of the kids used it , i have to say it just amazed the amount of words my son could sgin at 4 .

Re: Educating Children with Special Needs?
Educating children with special needs should take place in a school that is most appropriate for each individual child. I have chosen to send my son to a special needs school where he is cared for and educated by adults who have training and an interest in special needs and who have chosen special needs as a teaching vocation. My experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. My son is included in every activity the school hosts. I strongly reccomend that parents, children and professionals are allowed to choose which type of education is best for each individual child. For me choice is the most important element in this area!
Thank you

I totally agree with inclusion I run a preschool and for the past couple of years we have had different children with different needs in our setting and I can honestly say everybody in the setting both children and staff get so much more from the experience.
